I was born and raised beside an older brother and a younger sister, in Whitefish, Montana, where I learned how to live a creative life after my artist Mother and designer Father. We are experiencing existence at an alarming speed. Creating my own system based on the current fabric of the human landscape pushes this idea of an abstract existence and experience. What happens when you apply a set of rules to a complex system? The infinite amount of combinations creates a wonderful mode of making inside this system. Out of context we are an abstract system, a series of shapes and colors.

I want to re-organize these parts in order to see the “normal” in a refreshing way. I am interested in the act of people watching as an encompassing way to look closer at us as a whole. Let us slow down the complex narrative and break it into digestible parts. I want the objects I create to hold onto moments. We can never stop time or stop a moment to study it in a fixed state. Pull away from your character to gather the intricacies between beings, places and objects. I want to use the human presence as a material in my work as it exists in a system. I want to capture and study an exact point in time and place using multiple materials. I have built a paper making screen for grass paper this spring. Slab building, slump molds, jiggering, relief portraits, vessels, and glaze testing. Using diverse experimentation I am reacquainting myself with clay and exploring textures and techniques. Depiction of beings, places and objects with a theme of componentry. These diptic objects will contain large slabs of these eclectic materials and celebrate the future. I want to combine sgraffito carved pots and wall collages containing ceramic relief, wood mosaic, natural paper, and fused glass.

I have been experimenting with a few new ideas. I am currently living at home, in Whitefish enjoying hockey, kitties and chickens.
